Coin #1 in Barry's study

This is the first of the Repunched / Re-engraved varieties for this date and it is the only example that has occurred with a Narrow Date. Unlike the following varieties, the alterations in this case, have been made only to the "4" and "0", whereas, the remainder of the Letters and Numerals, have been left untouched. With regards to the numeral "4", there are only vague traces of Repunching which would indicate that this digit had been altered, however, with the "0", the evidence is more substantial!
