1942 Newfoundland One Cent
George VI · 2 varieties · study revised Apr. 21st 2018
With a mintage of nearly 2,000,000 coins, it should seem likely that the number of varieties associated with this date would be at least comparable to those of the 1941 coinage. However, with only two notable variations currently identified, the probability of finding more is becoming increasingly less likely! There does seem to be some evidence of Repunching to the numerals in the date, but their effects must be considered minimal at best. Of course, this could all change with the discovery of any Repunched varieties that would be considered equal to those of the 1940 and 1941 issues.

As it now stands, there is just one of each of a Narrow and Wide Date, which can be attributed to the differences in the size of the gaps between the "4" and "2" of these two variations.
