As can be expected with anything new, there were times when the mint had to modify or improve upon the dies in order to produce high quality coinage. However, surprisingly in this first year, there seems to have been very few modifications made to these dies! Of course, this may change as more examples are examined but for the moment, we are left with just two but noteable varieties. These particular variations are primarily defined by the obvious differences found to both the "1" and "6" in the date.
