Coin #1 in Barry's study

The second of these 1873 varieties has a Repunched Date, which is particularly noticeable on the "3". In this instance, not only has this Numeral been Modified but also, it has been Punched slighly Lower in the Date and a little Closer to the Ornamental Beads. Traces of the original digit can still be clearly seen at the ends of the "3", which also displays a slightly Smaller opening than the "3" of its Narrow Date relative.
