Wide Date, Re-Engraved, Reverse Legend

Both this variety and the following Wide Date examples demonstrate extensive Re-Engraving to the Lettering and the Numerals on the Reverse of these coins. The first of these appears to have been done with meticulous care giving the coins an artistic appearance which reflects a raised shadow from each digit. This effect is quite impressive and is very easy to see on these coins! It is quite similar in style to the Re-engraving of the 1940 NFLD Small Cents and appears to have been done by the same engraver.
