Coin #1 in Barry's study

The first of these two varieties has a Wide Date and the familiar Heaton Mint Mark "H", at the base of the Queen's portrait, but otherwise, it is most unremarkable. There are no apparent signs that the Die had ever been modified, however, in comparison to the following example, there exists a very slight difference in the positioning of the "2". In this instance, it has been punched a little higher than that of its relative. In spite of the colourless character of this particular variety, it is still very difficult to find in higher grades!
