Wide Date, Re-punched "40" (Low "0")
1940 Newfoundland 5 Cents · George VI
The last of these known varieties, also has a Wide Date with a noticeably Re-punched "0". Initially, it seems to be very similar in appearance to the previous example, however, upon closer examination, it can be clearly seen that the Over-punched "0" is off-centre. This has effectively revealed much of the original digit at both the top of the eye, and beneath this numeral. In addition, the "4" also has been strongly Re-punched, which makes it a striking contrast to the previous variation.
