Wide Date, Rep'd "8's", Low, Tilted "0", Re-Eng. "E" & "N" in "CENT" & Wire Spur (Left Side)
1880 Newfoundland One Cent · Victoria
In some respects, this variety has some common similarities to the previous listing, with its Low, Tilted "0" (Right-Leaning) and nearly identical size of the Date. However, this particular variation has a Re-engraved "E" & "N", in "CENT", with the "N" having been so extensively Modified that it can be considered as a Defining feature. In addition, there is a Fine, Wire Border Spur, which is located on the Centre-Left Side of this variation. In comparison to the more conventional variety, this example is much easier to recognize, but it is extremely difficult to find in any condition!
