Narrow Date, High-Right "H", Plain "2" (No Bug)
1872 H Newfoundland One Cent · Victoria
The final entry in this list of Narrow Date variations, is a little unusual because it is not defined by what it has to offer through its idiosyncrasies, but by what it doesn’t have. In this case, it does not have the tiny “Bug” which is a usually found sliding down the inside slope of the “2”. It is a very common feature which can be found on nearly every coin with this date, but not in this case. It does display some modest signs of Repunching and a “Die Clash”, but otherwise, it is a very unassuming variety.
