Narrowest Date, Re-punched "6", Even "5", Malformed "A" & Gothic "W"
1865 Newfoundland One Cent · Victoria
The final variety listed here, has the Narrowest Date of all of the variances currently catalogued under this section. The Date has a Re-punched "6" and the "5" is almost evenly aligned with the other digits in the date. This differs from the first two Narrow Date varieties which have their "5's" positioned Lower. All of these varieties display some signs of Re-Engraved Lettering, but in this instance, this feature cannot be considered significant, except for the Letter "A", in "NEWFOUNDLAND", where this character appears to be incomplete and distorted. Also, this is the only known Narrow Date variation which uses the Gothic "W", and of the six known varieties that have this style of "W", it is the only example that does not display any significant signs of having been Modified.
