Coin #1 in Barry's study

This variety is another example having a date Punched with the Smaller 9's, but in this case, it has a couple characteristics which distinquish it from the previous variety. The second "9" of this pair is particularly interesting because it has been Repunched and positioned slightly Lower than the other digits in the date. This would suggest that it may have come from a re-used Small "99" die in order to fill or complete a limited production order. At first glance, it would appear to be a typical Small "99" variety, however, once it has been more closely examined, this first impression disappears. Unlike the previous Small "99" variety, this variation does not appear to exhibit a "Dot" on it Obverse.
