Re-punched "4" & High "44"
1944 Newfoundland 10 Cents · George VI
This final variety is more difficult to locate than either of its two companions! It can easily be confused with the previous variation, which might make it necessary to fall back onto its minor differences in order to verify it. Perhaps the best choice would be to check the Gap between the "9" and "4", in the date. In this instance, it can be seen to be Narrower than it is with either of the previously listed variations. With this particular variance, the gaps between the last 3 digits are approximately the same size. In addition, the first "4" has been Re-punched with a sliver of the original digit still visible along the Upper Right side of this numeral.
